WHAT SETS US APART
- Only all-natural high-quality products intended for pets are used in our salons.
- We only allow gentle grooming - Mats are never painfully brushed and pets are never forced to undergo any grooming procedure that we find they are too stressed to handle. We would rather send a pet home than risk injury.
- All of our new groomers complete a 6 month apprenticeship program and must be certified in pet CPR. Average experience for our staff is 5 years.
- Our temperature controlled rooms are maintained with veterinary grade cleaning products.
- Along with our two door safety rule, doors to all rooms have automatic closures installed to ensure there is always a safety barrier between the street and your pet
- The grooming loops on our tables have been equipped with Groomers Helper® break away panic snaps to ensure the safety of your pet at all times.
- No time allotments or quotas. If your pet is stressed it’s time for a break.
- Our cage driers use cool air only to keep your pet safe and comfortable.
- Video monitoring is always in use in our stores and salons. We’re always transparent and willing to review any concerns you have regarding the treatment of your pet.
- Should medical issues happen to arise as a direct result of a groom, we will provide reimbursement at your primary care office.
- Owner observed grooming sessions are available.
DOGS 12+ YEARS OLD
We do not accept new clients with pets over 12 years old, or pets with certain medical conditions. If you are a current client with a pet that is over 12 years old, we will perform a review of their medical records and reserve the right to deny service based upon our findings.
We strongly recommend you have a discussion with your vet about grooming and your pet's health as they grow older. We take steps to ensure grooming is a comfortable experience, but it can still be stressful for some pets. When that is compounded with age related medical conditions, it's truly in their best interest to receive a medically supervised groom.
CANINE INFLUENZA
Canine influenza (CI, or dog flu) is caused by the canine influenza virus (CIV), an influenza A virus. It is highly contagious and easily spread from infected dogs to other dogs by direct contact, nasal secretions (through barking, coughing or sneezing), contaminated objects (kennel surfaces, food and water bowls, collars and leashes), and by people moving between infected and uninfected dogs
How is Doggie Style Pets keeping your pet safe?
We understand your concerns and have implemented procedures to keep dog flu out of our grooming rooms:
- Sanitization: All surfaces and tools are sanitized with a broad spectrum disinfectant between grooms – tables, tubs, cages and tools.
- Separation: Your pet is caged for their safety. Cageless salons lead to disruption and disease spread, which is why dogs never interact with each other in our grooming rooms. Private grooming rooms are also being added at our busiest locations.
Private grooming rooms are also being added at our busiest locations.
What are the signs of dog flu?
The signs of this illness in dogs are cough, runny nose, fever, lethargy, eye discharge, and reduced appetite, but not all dogs will show signs of illness.
Please do not bring your pet to grooming if they are sick or not feeling well.
How can you help protect your pet?
- Ask your veterinarian about having your dog vaccinated for canine influenza.
- If you use boarding or daycare – ask about recent cases, cleaning protocols and isolation plans for sick animals.
- Take a break from dog parks and avoid letting your dog sniff to greet other dogs on walks.
Together we'll safeguard your pet from dog flu, and have them leave our grooming room looking and feeling their best.
