Philadelphia based pet store Doggie Style Pets launched the Save10K Pet Adoption Initiative to raise awareness for adoptable pets in their retail locations. Today they can say they've finally hit this goal.
“Doggie Style Pets is a store truly built on helping animals and I couldn’t be more proud of the tireless efforts put forth by staff, volunteers and our customers to help us reach this incredible milestone. I’d also like to recognize Saved Me Rescue and The Pet Mechanic for the immense work they do to provide these animals with the second chance they deserve,” remarked Doggie Style Pets CEO Howard Nelson.
The lucky dog, a 5 month old retriever mix named Cole (FKA Spearmint), was gifted a year supply of free Petcurean pet food (dry kibble, freeze dried raw and treats) and a free year of medical treatments through The Pet Mechanic Veterinary Center. A gift basket presentation and official photos with Lavern’s new family took place at Doggie Style Pets Market St. location.
Saved Me Rescue’s Executive Director beamed, "I am incredibly grateful to be part of a such a major milestone for Saved Me. We have helped 10,000 animals find their happily ever after and I look forward to the next 10,000."
Since 2011, Doggie Style Pets has been in partnership with Saved Me, a non-profit with a mission to rescue animals from shelters that are forced to euthanize due to lack of space. Using each of their store’s front windows as Pet Adoption Rooms, Doggie Style Pets has helped thousands of pets find new homes in the past 8 years. In addition to providing safe shelter for animals, Doggie Style Pets partners with The Pet Mechanic Veterinary Center to provide free medical care for all adoptable animals.
