Grooming Policy Announcement
We have been receiving some pushback on medical restrictions we recently instituted — namely that we reserve the right to turn away new grooming clients over the age of 12. We'd like to set the record straight regarding this policy:
No matter what steps are taken to make it a comfortable safe experience, grooming can still be a stressful for some dogs. When that is compounded with other age related medical conditions such as degenerative-valve disease or dilated cardiomyopathy, it's truly in the best interest of the dog to receive a medically supervised groom, or at the very least for the owner to have a discussion with their dog's cardiologist about the associated risks.
At Doggie Style Pets we only want the best for your pets. In the case of an older dog with a preexisting condition, we will always advise on the best way to protect your pet's health regardless of whether or not it's good for business. For our existing clients — as long as you have a discussion with your vet about grooming and your pets' health, we will continue to groom your dogs as they grow older. We hope this clears things up for everyone!!
